Send to dbkate@yahoo.com "Yeah, Scully, it looks OK." But it hurts like hell, thought Fox Mulder, as he held one hand under the lukewarm, no, not cold Dr. Scully, no, not hot, yeah, yeah, just right water and used the other hand to hold steady the cel phone he had balanced behind his ear. "No, Scully it's not that deep." Mulder could see some tendons underneath the torn skin and a small sliver of white bone. He looked away and put it back under the water. A dissected human body can certainly be fascinating, but not when it's your own. "Stitches? Oh, I don't think so." Stitches. Memories of a street hockey game...a split forehead.. and an eighty year old doctor with a shaky hand popped into his mind. Stitches. I don't think so. "You think I should go for a shot?" More sweet childhood memories. Mulder wondered if his mother ever really forgave him for lacerating her eardrums during his inoculations. Or if the nurse in the FBI's health department had kept her promise to keep his blood test scream, well, their little secret. "Yeah, I know it can get infected." And with God knows what. That lunatic whom he had helped the VCU bring in sure didn't look too healthy. Dirty...unshaven, practically drooling. He tucked the cel phone tighter against his shoulder and turned up the faucet. Oh, ouch. I don't care what anyone says, this stings. Damn. "Yeah, I know Scully." The blood was now only dripping from the wound. Mulder looked at it as it rolled down the sides of the sink, very bright and red. A very pretty shade of red actually, Mulder thought. Shiny and wet, it smells good too. I never noticed that before. He curiously dipped a finger in it. "Uh, huh, Scully. I know." He brought it to his lips. Why, it's very sweet. Strange. He could hear Scully's lecture on the other end of the phone but it was fading slightly. "That's right, " he said, now slowly licking his finger. My God... It was... Delicious. Scully's tinny admonitions were turning into a buzz. "I know, I know, Scully, a human bite can be very dangerous." ~~~~~~~~~~~ Part Two "Howdy, Red." Dana Scully entered the X-Files basement office and put her briefcase and bags down. She looked over at Mulder. Well, he's in a good mood, she noted cheerfully, seeing his feet up on the desk and a big, big grin. "Hello, yourself. That's quite a smile you have there, Mulder." Mulder's grin grew larger. A huge, toothy grin. "Love your suit, Scully." Scully beamed. It was a new one, a red one. Since she was a redhead she hesitated about the color, but she must have picked just the right shade. "Thanks. Well, do we have anything big going on today?" "No, why? Got plans?" said Mulder, his smile just refusing to quit. "As a matter of fact, yes. I was wondering if you'd mind if I took off a little early today." said Scully. "I was hoping to catch an afternoon train to Arlington." "What's in Arlington?" asked Mulder. "I'm visiting my grandmother. I don't get to see her too often, so I've decided to spend the weekend. She doesn't go out much so I thought it would be nice to keep her company and bring her some goodies." said Scully, picking up the bags and checking in them. Mmm...goodies. There were goodies in the room, Mulder thought, as Scully examined each of the gourmet items carefully. But they're not in those bags. Oh, no. There's a big, bright Christmas present of a goody right here. All wrapped up in red, and looking, well... Delicious. Mulder licked his lips. "Tell you what, Scully, " said Mulder, "I'll not only let you have the afternoon off, but I'll even give you a ride to Arlington. All for one small favor." "And what favor might that be? asked Scully, with a raised eyebrow. "Dinner," said Mulder, hardly able to keep his eyes off of Scully. Her hands, legs, arms... Her neck. "Buy you dinner? For a ride to Arlington? Hmmm..sounds more than fair. Are you sure?" Scully asked curiously. "Positive," said Mulder, swallowing. Trying hard to keep the saliva from rolling over his bottom lip. "Well, that's just great. I'll even throw in lunch. How about McNally's?" said Scully brightly. She picked up her bags and slung her purse over her shoulder. Mulder smiled. "Sure. I love Irish food." ~~~~~~~~~~ Part Three "How's the hand, Mulder?" Mulder was driving at a leisurely pace along the tree lined road to Arlington, his still-bandaged hand on the wheel. Scully looked at him a bit worriedly, he'd claimed to be starving, but had barely touched his lunch. "Dunno. Wanna take a look at it?" asked Mulder, holding it out for inspection. He held it out to her. Scully began unwrapping it slowly, being especially careful when getting to the blood soaked part closest to the skin as not to reopen the wound. She took off the last bit of gauze and saw...nothing. "Mulder, there's no wound here. Didn't you say that the suspect's bite broke the skin?" asked Scully in amazement. Mulder examined it nonchalantly. "Guess he wasn't wearing his Denturcreme," said Mulder. He winked at her slyly and turned his eyes back to the road. Scully sat back silently and looked at her partner. The late fall afternoon had turned into a crisp evening with rustling trees, sharp winds... And a bright full moon. "Mulder, are you sure we're going the right way?" she asked as she looked around. She hadn't been to her grandmother's in months, but this part should look a little more familiar. "Oh sure, do I ever get lost?" asked Mulder carelessly. "Say Scully. What perfume is that? Because you smell great," he said, inhaling deeply. Oh, boy did she smell good. Like milkshakes and chocolate cookies. The best of wines and the finest steak. She smelled... Good enough to eat. "I'm not wearing perfume," said Scully slowly. The car began to sputter and shake. Mulder hit the brake and pulled over before the engine ground to a shuddering halt. "Looks like we're out of gas," said Mulder with a deep sigh. An innocent sigh. "Oh, Mulder. There isn't a gas station for miles on this route." said Scully with annoyance. "Oh my," said Mulder shaking his head. "I don't even know where we are. I don't think her house is even close," said Scully, turning on the overhead light, pulling the map out of the glove compartment and unfolding it with a huff. "Oh dear," said Mulder with a smile... A wolfish smile. "Wait a second. No, we came around a back way," said Scully, tracing a finger along the map. "Looks like we're closer than I thought, about a mile away." Mulder watched her finger move with fascination. Look at it, he thought, all white and delicate, with just a little plumpness at the tip. His gaze traveled up her wrists, past her shoulders and up to her face. Such round cheeks, red lips...and what perfect ears. Mulder's finger's started to curl around the wheel, knuckles whitening. He could feel the hairs on his arms and the back of his neck rise. His gaze traveled down to her breasts. Oh, my God... He moved a little closer. Scully felt warm air on the back of her neck as she studied the map. She swatted her hand absentmindedly behind her. "Mulder, back off. You're breathing all over me," she said irritably, not turning around. "Now, we could walk down this route and go into town or we can just...Mulder, please! Will you move over?" Scully turned with annoyance. And saw Mulder's eyes. What big eyes he had. Big yellow eyes. Speechless, Scully reached for the door handle. Mulder lunged and pinned her down, his face right up against hers. "But, Scully," said Mulder, his eyes glowing, his teeth bared and one hand reaching for her throat. "You promised me some dinner," he snarled. Scully shrieked and fought with the car door. It opened with a bang and they both rolled out onto the roadside. With two quick Quantico kicks she tossed Mulder off of her and reached for her gun. Mulder lunged for her again, panting, snarling, even drooling. She got up, aimed... And fired. She caught Mulder squarely in the shoulder and heard an unearthly howl. He looked at her in shock for a few seconds, turned and entered the woods with a crash. Scully fell back against the car...stunned. "Oh, my," she said. ~~~~~~~~~~ Part Four //If you're going out into the woods today.// The moon overhead was waxing full as Scully walked along the forest route. She had started to look for Mulder then decided that getting to her grandmother's and calling for back-up might be a better idea. Mulder was looking more than a little perturbed, she thought. She walked quickly, humming to herself trying to break the forest's silence. //You'd better not go alone.// Scully heard a noise. She whirled around quickly, gun poised. //If you're going out into woods today.// A chipmunk ran past her. She sighed and holstered her gun. //You'd have been better off at home.// Her feet were killing her. A mile is a lot longer in heels. She swore she'd buy the first pair of flats she saw next time she went shopping. No matter how short or dumpy they would make her look. Well. Maybe not. She kept humming. Hmmm, what song *is* this, anyway? //Because that's the day the teddy bears have their picnic.// "Oh. It's *that* stupid song," she said as she entered the town. ~~~~~~~~~~ Part Five "Grandma?" Scully knocked at her grandmother's front door and heard no response. She must be sleeping, thought Scully as she pulled out a large key chain. I think I'll just sneak in and call for back-up. Maybe she'll sleep right through it. "It's me Grandma, Dana," she whispered as she entered. She clicked on the living room light. No one there, but, damn. Scully just remembered. The phone's in her bedroom. Well, gonna have to wake Granny now, she sighed. Yes, Grandma, I'm calling for back-up in the middle of the night. That's right, my partner has turned into a slobbering maniac who I shot and is now howling his way through the woods. No, Grandma, I don't want some cookies and tea. She sighed again and climbed up the stairs toward her bedroom. "Grandma?" she called as she knocked. "Come in." Oh, Granny's awake. Matlock must be on. Scully walked in the room and looked up. And saw Mulder...on her grandmother's bed. She pulled her gun. He just smiled at her. She stared at him in shock. "Why, Agent Scully," he snickered. "What big eyes you have." ~~~~~~~~~~~ Part Six "Now, where to start?" Scully yanked on the handcuffs. This is not good, she thought as Mulder ran a finger down her leg. He had disarmed her so damn quickly. "It's so very hard to decide," said Mulder, as his tongue flicked over and around his lips. "There's legs." His finger traveled in a circular motion around one knee. "Thighs." His hand moved slowly up her leg and under her skirt. She tried to kick him, but he held her down. He pinched the top of her leg. Hmmm. Just enough for a starter dish, but not quite an entree. He wiped off his mouth with the back of his hand. "I cannot get over how good you smell," he said, bending over her neck and inhaling deeply. He nuzzled her throat and moved his way down nipping at her neck. He worked his way back up and nibbled on one ear, then the other. A little bite here...a little chomp there. He started to drool. Oh, this is disgusting, thought Scully as she tried to squirm away. And he's been at this for hours, it was almost dawn. Mulder sighed. Well, as Mom always said, you shouldn't play with your food. Besides, I'm really hungry, in fact, I'm starving. His eyes grew cold. He ripped open the top of Scully's blouse. He could just make out her jugular vein, pounding and warm. She desperately tried to kick him, but he'd suddenly grown very strong. His teeth were bared, he was panting. Starving... "Dana?" Scully looked up. And saw her grandmother in the doorway. "Grandma!!! Run!!! Run!!!" Scully screamed, now really kicking at a surprised Mulder. "Why, you horrible man! Get your hands off of my granddaughter!!!" Scully's grandmother picked up the lamp from the night stand. Mulder stared at her in shock. And Grandma Scully broke the lamp... Right over Mulder's head. And his world went black. He fell off of the bed into a heap on the floor. Scully started to hyperventilate with relief. Scully's grandmother looked at Mulder, then at Scully. "Dear?" Scully looked up. "Yes, Grandma?" "That wasn't your boyfriend, was it?" ~~~~~~~~~~ Part Seven "Scully." Oh, he still looks so apologetic, thought Scully. "Are you sure you're alright?" he asked looking sadly at her. It was almost a month now. The effects of the bite only lasted during the night of the full moon and Mulder had completely recovered by that morning. But he still felt terrible. Poor boy. "I'm fine, Mulder," she said. "You didn't hurt me." And he hadn't. Except for the little bite he gave her on her neck. She scratched it. Dana Scully looked at Mulder again. She smiled. A hungry smile. "But if you want to really make it up to me, Mulder, there is something you could do." "Anything, Scully," he said. "How about dinner?" Scully said, trying not to drool. "Tonight, Scully?" She wiped her mouth. "Yes, tonight." ***************** Happy Halloween folks!!!! dbkate@yahoo.com
